1) Brian Adlam our Treasure has been on the sick list. We hope he regains his health soon and we are thinking of him. A big thanks to Ann (Brian’s better half) for keeping the club finances under control.
2) Tim Woods has been representing our case for fairer regulations for builders and owners of Clubbies, with the help of other kit car and performance car manufacturers via the VACC. The SVG (a body under the VACC) Membership is due, $350 is required to continue our membership. Dave Down has nominated that we continue our financial support to Tim Woods. We thank Tim for his effort so far and although Rome was not built in a day, it did get built.
3) Phil McKenzie has our new website up and running and has done an excellent job so far. Many thanks to the TWO Phil’s.
4) Dave Down has enquired about the insurance for the club; Brian B has offered to assist in this matter.
5) Dave D has purchased extra dial indicators to assist torsional testing of the chassis. Contact Gavin Eakins if you need to coordinate club equipment.
6) Club Permits – a reminder Log books must be completed before a vehicle is driven on public roads. So far there have been 3 enquiries for club permits. And we have one permit car on the records.
7) Question was raised for the cost of being a new member $30/year – please refer to the new website.
8) Ian Rusch has the corner scales for any financial member if they are needed. Coordinate with Gavin Eakins first.
9) Sandro has raised a question “Why are we not using a committee private sub forum on Ozclubbies?” – Agreed we should use it more often, email is still hard to beat on a quick short note or wanting a quick response.
10) Coffee East & West have been well attended with some new members attending with coffee East on Fathers Day was a great success.
11) Reminder – Bendigo run on this Sunday 30th September, convoy leaving Calder Park Raceway at 8:30am sharp. Note a few people asked if more notice can be provided as not all people read Ozclubbies. We note that just because members go on a run, it does not automatically mean the VCBG organised the run.
12) “Not The National” 17th & 18th November 2012 at Bright, deliberately – nothing will be organised. Quite a few people are attending, question raised “Is there a person nominated as a point of contact?”. Note: there are two threads about “Not the National” under Victorian and National Event.
13) Friday 28th December 2012, please keep this date open for possibility of lunch at Rose GPO Hotel in Rosebud. Dave D. to enquire and to provide info.
14) The possibility of lunch on the West side is the third Sunday in January 16th, please keep this date open.
15) We currently have 47 paid members to date.
16) Should there be a list of members with their specialties and locations around Melbourne for time of need for current financial members? I.e. assistance or breakdown. This can cause privacy issues – further thought required.
17) Saturday 10th November 2012 McHappy Day, Brian has volunteered his services at McDonalds @ 535 South Gippsland Hwy Hampton Park, near Lynbrook Hotel, and asked if members want to come along to join Brian in a car display and provide service for a good course. Email and more information will need to be sent.
18) Rob Roy – come and try day Sunday 30th September – for those who are interested Dave D. will be there with the bargain of the century if the car runs.
